1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin once it gets full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they are very good at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or via the app.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households, but it also fits in well next to the coffee table or the bookshelf, that you can spin around like the magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases fresh air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments as well as the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is enough time to sweep the typical home however, it's not enough time to reach every area. (A second run usually works). cleaning robots 's not to say this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of the most well-known robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's a good choice for people who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our tests, and often goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often is power-depleted before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways in that it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, because it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode manually, comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy and has a stronger motor, and works better on both bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a wider array of automation options.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for some buyers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you monitor your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin are washable to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ also has a clean station that self-empties and helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run.

The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot should you need to. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. And the ability to set up the weekly cleaning schedule is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
